On June 17th of 2011, I performed in the Academy of Ballet jazz show. The theme was movies, so each of the songs was from a movie. The day after that, the 18 of June, was the Academy of Ballet ballet show. The ballet was Sleeping Beauty and I had the privilege of being one of the seven soloist fairies. I was the Fairy of the Golden Vine-it was so fun!!
In November of 2011, Academy of Ballet put on a show called Pioneer Legacy. I was able to be one of the eight angels that surround and protect a ship and passengers during a terrible storm because of their great faith. It was amazing, but short.
On December 2nd, Academy of Ballet's companies want around to four elementary schools around Utah Valley and performed dances from the Nutcracker ballet. It was so fun being around the members of my company, Ballet Utah. The following Monday (the 5th) I had the opportunity to perform the Sugar Plum Fairy solo at the American Fork Junior High with the American Fork Symphony Orchestra. It was a fantastic experience and would be so fun to do again!
Academy of Ballet is working very hard for our next few shows: Pointe Counterpointe, the Fairy Tea Party, and Swan Lake! I am looking forward to it!
